Meet The Team
Tracy Murdoch
Nursery Manager
BA Childhood Practice
I am honoured to be part of a loving and caring team at Fly High. I love having the opportunity to watch every child learn, grow and develop in our care. Fly High is a unique nursery where staff and children all feel like part of a family, in a safe nurturing environment for your child to become confident individuals.
I was delighted to join Fly High when it opened in 2019 and now to be the Manager is a dream come true. I am looking forward to taking the nursery from strength to strength and watching the team and children thrive in an environment that offers lots of experiences where children can investigate, be curious and use their imaginations allowing them to become the best they can be.

I look forward to getting to know the children and see them grow!
I love outdoor and messy play and can't wait to organise lots of experiences for the children.
Handing in my honour's dissertation was an amazing feeling and passing was even better! Every day is different working in early years, and I love that.

I love my job at Fly High as every day I get to work alongside a great team. I am privileged to find work colleagues who are like a family. I love building positive relationships with the children and their families. Being a part of the children's journey as they learn, grow and develop into confident individuals is the most rewarding part of my role as an Early Years Room Leader
My biggest achievement within my career so far is completing my BA Childhood Studies degree during the COVID-19 pandemic.

I enjoy my job at Fly High because it feels like a “family”. It’s small and cosy, as a team we work together to give the children a safe, caring and nurturing environment. The staff and management are incredibly supportive and working with the children is extremely rewarding. Just a smile or an achievement of some sort makes you appreciate how rewarding your job is.
I have 32 years of experience. I am a mother of 4 and a grandmother to 5 grandchildren. I am passionate about my job. When I started my two-year N.N.E.B course in England in 1986 I knew this was the career for me. I have a nurturing, maternal nature and I would say my biggest achievement is maintaining a childcare career and, keeping up with training; adapting from England to Scotland’s curriculum and seeing so many changes over the years. I have worked in both nurseries and schools. I have also supported children with additional needs and feel proud to have helped them to become confident individuals.
I enjoy art, craft, messy play, sensory play, mark making and stories. My head is always full of ideas and I am always scouring for resources to develop areas/activities. I know I’ve had a great day when I have glitter in my hair and paint on my face.

I love Fly High - it is a cosy nursery that feels like home. Staff are lovely and understanding, the communication is always great meaning any changes or updates are passed on super quick so we can ensure we are doing whats best for the children and as a childcare practitioner this is beneficial.

HNC Early Education and Childcare
I have been a part of the Fly High team since we opened and although I've had time off on maternity leave it is lovely to see the nursery continue to develop and all the children having so much fun through all the learning opportunities provided.
I have worked in childcare since 2010, I was part of a private nursery group in Edinburgh for 8 years where I gained lots of experience with various age groups and was room supervisor for many years. When I moved back to Ayrshire I worked within school nurseries on supply. Being a mummy to two young children helps boost my skills on caring for children as well as knowing the challenges and fun of being a parent.

I enjoy helping the children grow into their own individual personalities. I love being creative and encouraging children's development through play and messy activities.
My biggest achievement in childcare is gaining qualification and a permanent position at Fly High.

I like working at fly high as it has taught me great team - working skills, patience and has given me the opportunity to develop my practice in working with children. I love the fact that there are a range of ages to work with within the nursery, from the babies to the pre-schoolers and can truly watch them develop and become their own person.

I like working at Fly High as its great to see the children reaching their milestones. I love messy play experiences and I also love that as a setting we see the value in Makaton and get to use this throughout our daily practice to support communication.
Morag Connelly
Office Manager
Fly High is such a great family to be part of. I’ve been with Fly High since it opened in 2019 and every day has been different for me. I love to watch the children grow and develop during their time with us and take pride in knowing they have been given the best care, education, and knowledge from our staff. I came to Fly High from an Admin, Facilities and Health & Safety background within a large IT company, and I’ve been able to bring my knowledge and skills to this role within Fly High.
Brenda Pound
Owner & Business Manager
Fly High is a strong nurturing team, I am so very proud of them all.
My job is made easy having Tracy as our Nursery Manager; she is passionate about her work and encourages her team to excel.
Morag is a great office manager, from finance to facilities management as well as our Health and Safety and First Aid officer.
I really enjoy seeing Apprentices join us as and watch them grow in confidence to become competent practitioners.
The children are amazing, coming in so young and seeing them all grown up and confident ready for school, it seems to happen in a flash.
